code of conduct

keeping you safe

The following rules lay down the code of conduct and standards of behaviour expected of course members participating with FarAway Medicine. By agreeing to this form you agree to adhere to these rules for the duration of the course.

Breach of these rules will, at the Course Organiser’s discretion, lead to disciplinary action which may include removal from the course.

The Course Organisers are within their rights to send participants home if they feel that their continued presence on the course will endanger other course participants and/or staff, or if they are perceived to be disrupting the course to the detriment of others.

Our medical staff are experienced and qualified in their field. However, due to insurance limitations, we are not permitted to provide anything more than basic first aid on the scene. If a participant finds themselves in need of medical assistance, we will
facilitate getting them to local medical centres / hospitals but we are unable to offer professional opinions/assistance ourselves.

A large part of the course is scenario based. Much is done to ensure these scenarios are as realistic as possible. Please can we encourage you to to treat them as ‘real’, and fully engage yourselves in the management of the scenario. Participants who are not actively involved will be expected to observe and contribute to the debrief after the scenario is over.
